White fever

I would have thought that the color of my spring would be green. However, it seems to me that after all it's going to be white. I'm seriously in love with white. I have many many white pictures that I'm going to share. These white lilacs just started to bloom after the warmth and sun of last weekend.

We went to see Minea's lesson yesterday, because it was the last lesson of season.
Those little ballerinas were soooo cute

Flower Art

Guess what? I think I like edited flower images more than actually real flowers.
And I love taking photos of flowers because they are so beautiful, it's almost impossible to spoil their beauty.
Not too difficult to capture I would say :)

Spring light

I Stole some bird cherry branches from our backyard to shoot.
Chose some of those that didn't just yet bloom.

And this one is from my bedroom window. The upper branches are in full bloom.

And this is how it looks straight from the bottom.

Spring is fantastic! Isn't it?

A Stolen Flower

Well.. It's really not that easy for my kids to understand which of the garden flowers are pickable and which not. Yellow ones are always considered pickable because of dandelions... The one Minea picked for her hair isn't a dandelion but what difference would it make for a little child?
And it looks quite beautiful in her hair.
Perhaps I'll pick a tulip today!

Outing (with HDR)

HDR has starting to interest me more and more lately. And I had to give it a try. The result is not as natural and beautiful as I was wishing... I still need to find the way to make it not too surreal. Obviously it's not that easy :)

If you're interested in seeing better HDR's, I'll share my favorites here:

Loving it ♥

It's funny how spring arrives. I spent weeks - months perhaps - waiting and capturing. Keeping eye on every branch, bud and first weed... I was checking the birches daily to cath the first green. And yet. It's all here now and I don't know when it came and how did it happend. A new season.
But It's here now. And I'm loving it ♥

Dandelions

People are always having hard time to get rid of something truly beutiful ;)
I've always loved dandelions. Especially when I was younger. They are so beautiful in their yellow! Besides - there are always plenty of them and they are free to pick. My kids love them too!
That's why we will always have some in our yard.

Texture love ♥ {Life-n-Reflection Textures}

It was love at first sight

When I first visited Kristy's Life-n-Reflection I think I spent an hour just by looking at the wonderful blog header. Seriously - I warn you. If you haven't visited her yet, prepare to get hooked.

I love Kristy's photography (and everything else she does), but the most wonderful thing for me is her textures. I'm a huge texture-lover!!! You're able to shop Kristy's textures online at Life-n-Reflection Boutigue. The textures are very reasonable prised and they usually come in packs of four or something, so they are an easy choise to start your journey with textures. Give it a try!

Now, I've been lucky to try out Kristy's Thunderstorm Series textures from her Ephemera Texture Collection that you can find here - come and check it out!

Here is a little peak of what you can do with textures to spice up your photography work. I've played with textures and all the different blending modes to show you what textures can give to pictures.

My little Blue. Textured with "Shelter". Blending mode Darken 89% opacity.

My Blues. Textured with "Rainfall". Blending mode Soft light 100% opacity.

My Key to Spring. Textured with "Storm Gloud". Blending mode Multiply 53%

My vintage spring. Textured with "Gray Skies". Blending mode Multiply 69%.

In case you haven't tryed textures before, It's really easy! Basically you just ad the texture as a new layer, resize it to match your photo and play with blending modes.

And one more...
With my favorite texture -  Kristy's "Story teller".
Not for sale at the moment, but you never know... ;)

Want to wish everyone happy texture-time!!!
